The Perfect Summer day in New Orleans

June 20 2023 | Blog

Summertime in New Orleans is just like the city: one of a kind.

Whether you're a food lover, a music enthusiast, or just looking for a good time New Orleans has so much to offer for everyone!

Morning:

In New Orleans you can't start your day without a New Orleans staple beignets. Beignets are deep fried dough in a delicious powdered sugar coating. Some favorites around the city are the infamous Cafe du Monde in the French Quarter another favorite around the city is Cafe Beignets. Since you’re already in the French Quarter you might as well take a stroll! As you walk around you will be greeted with the sounds of jazz in the streets and the Mighty Mississippi.

Noon:

After all that strolling in the hot city you are sure to want to cool down. Here are some things to do around the city to keep it cool. The Audubon Institute Aquarium and Insectarium  just reopened with a $41 million renovation, they offer many immersive activities for all ages while also being in the cool air conditioning. Another must do in the city is exploring the beauty of the garden district which just so happens to have the world famous Hansen’s Sno Bliz (opened since 1939) for snowballs: shaved ice with homemade syrups. This sweet treat will be the best thing to cool you down! If snowballs aren’t your thing head down to Creole Creamery, a small ice cream joint with unique homemade flavors made in house! The Garden District also has many different restaurants from Commander’s Palace (upscale Louisiana cuisine) to Joey K’s (a relaxed neighborhood restaurant serving Louisiana classics).

Afternoon:

New Orleans is known as “The Big Easy” which we take seriously so relax! The best place to do this is where we started in the morning: French Quarter. As you enjoy the serene atmosphere the French Quarter has to offer head on down to the Creole Queen for an intimate dinner cruise along the Mississippi River. After you partake in the delicious dinner buffet, take a cocktail upstairs and take in the city from a different perspective

Night:

After you are nice and relaxed, get ready to party! Everyone knows New Orleans is all about partying and nightlife. If you’re feeling spooky, take a Haunted Ghost tour and learn about the history of ghosts in New Orleans. If you’re looking to party, go down to Bourbon Street and see all it has to offer.
